Make gestures. Like, when you’re around her, purposely cough and cover your mouth. Or, anonymously place a tissue box on her desk. Maybe even just ask her? There’s nothing wrong with just saying it. Just be nice about it, not like, “OMG, STOP COUGHING. STFU AND COVER YOUR FACE”, or something like that.

Buy some anti-bacterial spray and let loose when ever she coughs and splutters all over the place.

i think she has a big ego.so better than doing anything else use it against her haha. whenever she coughs without covering her mouth laugh a little and stop when she looks at you or create a face like if you are disgusted and change your face whenver she looks at you.i bet she will stop coughing in front of you.

It depends on how close you are to her. If you know her very well and vice versa, tell her directly. Use humor. If you are not that close to her, show that you care about her, ask if she is well, and make some hints to giver her some ideas–such as give her a small package of tissue and use your body languages to show that you don’t want to suffer the same thing she is suffering.

If you are not comfortable in doing these alone by yourself, ask a close coworker to act on these with you together. Or simply write her an email as a friendly reminder.

Lastly, if none of these are viable, try human resource people. Tell them to send an email to remind everyone about this hygiene issues so your boss won’t feel that she is direct targeted.

I’d start by sending an all-employee memo about the proper way to behave if you have a cough or cold. Because it’d be directed to everyone, she can’t take personal offense. Here at my office we have cans of disinfectant spray and disinfectant hand gel out everywhere as well.

Look at the Center for Disease Control website, they have great posters you can print off hang up at work that remind people to cover their mouths and sneeze into handkerchiefs or tissues rather than just blowing their germs around. A general warning to all should help put the pressure on this person.

You could point out to her that she will soon have a lot of her employees out sick if she doesn’t start covering her coughs. And hand-washing is important too.

Keep an aerosol can of Lysol by your desk, and after she goes by, spray it.

You’re right, she should have common sense and know better, but, not everyone uses common sense, and some people don’t know what the hell it is.

She probably didn’t care. Go to those folks who write the company monthly e-newsletters and tell them to put a column called Health Care, Hygiene and Etiquette, which will remind people to cover their mouths when coughing and sneezing.
