So I was a gullible idiot and decided “Hurrr durrr I’ll do what this thing is telling me and download Alpha Antivirus.” Given that it is a piece of rogue security software, that was a fucking stupid decision. Now I can’t get rid of it. I ended the Alpha AV process, deleted the entire folder, restarted. Nothing. Did a malwarebytes scan. Nothing. Did the scan again in safe mode. Nothing. Please help.

You could try combofix, I use it all the time when malwarebytes won’t do the trick on a system I am repairing. Just google for “combofix” and you will find out all about it.

I just went through the same thing. I did all the things you described and it came right back. The next time we tried it, we deleted the Alpha Av process, then REMOVED IT FROM THE RECYCLE BIN, then ran the malwarebytes, then restarted. this seems to have worked. We have been Alpha antivirus free for a few hours now. Good luck!

Reboot ur pc>press F8 into safe mode>download it>run “Online Scan”>detect it>remove it.

I’ve manually removed alpha antivirus before but it is unreliable. Even with alpha gone you are most likely now infected with numerous threats. For this I strongly suggest the following tool:

Use the best tool and make sure your system is clean, don’t take the risk with these rogue antivirus programs as they are notorious for identity theft. It’s really not worth risking – get rid of it and any new threats it opened you up to ASAP.
