i have a program that i never downloaded and every once in a while it wants me to but it and it claims i have virures and occasionally blocks many of my computers functions

its not on the list when i go to control panel>add/remove programs

plz help

its a bullsh*t supposed “antivirus” called “security shield”

its icon is a blue shield

That is not a program if you never installed it. Its a virus, I’ve had the same experience.

So in order to completely remove it, you are going to have to do a virus scan.

The one I would recommend the most is Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware software, its free and does a heck of a job scanning for viruses (83 versus my “anti-virus” software picking up nothing).

Download that (downloading on another computer and putting it on a usb might help in some cases), don’t install it just yet. Boot your computer into safe mode (press F8 during startup until a option involving safe mode pops up, and preess enter on that), install the software, and then run a virus scan. it should easily find it, delete it, and then poof it should be gone

You have one of the most annoying spywares that can be treated by rebooting your computer into safe mode with networking (start clicking F8 as soon as your machine becomes active) and then going to task manager. There you should stop randomly named processes of Security Shield – this should help to disable malware. Additionally, scan with updated anti-spyware or automatic removal tool.
