This is called nagware. It pretends to be an anti-virus program and reports that you have a virus when you don’t (except for it). Boot from a recovery CD with anti-virus and remove the nagware without opening it because the CD doesn’t run Windows.

Ok i had this problem too on my brand new laptop. Its actually not a an AV program its a virus program. What you wanna do is download this anti-malware called Malwarebytes download it, then select quick scan and press scan. Wait for it to complete the scan and press remove threats. Then your all good.

It seems like that “Personal Anti-Virus” is somewhat like a virus itself. Check out the two sources I’ve included for help. In summary you’re going to have to remove it using add/remove programs if it is installed to your computer, kill any running processes involving it, locate any other files that it has put on your computer, and possibly edit your registry. The two links give pretty in depth guides and suggest some software to help you remove it. I would personally use malwarebytes anti-malware but that’s just because I already have it on my computer and am familiar with it. You can get that from

or go straight to the download link from here
