McAfee isn’t a very good anti-virus. Every day thousands of viruses are created, you should get Norton Internet Security

“Win 7 Virus Protection” is a “rogue” anti-spyware program. You must have accidently installed it. These normally pop-up when you are on the Internet and tells you your system is infected and asks you to install it to get rid of it. Once you do, it’ll disable your actual anti-virus program, install malware into your computer and cause a lot of trouble. Google/Bing it and learn more about it.

“McAfee Anti-virus” does not have a good detection rate: http://www.av-comparatives.org/en/comparativesreviews/detection-test “Norton” isn’t that good either.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO REMOVE IT:

❶ Download “TDSSKiller.exe” and run a scan with it. This will kill the process of the culprit. http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/solutions?qid=208280684 You’ll need to do this in “Safe Mode”: Power on your computer ► tap the “F8″ key when you hear the beep sound (you’ll also see the manufacturer’s logo at the same time) ► select “Safe Mode with Networking” and hit they “Enter” key. If you cannot access the Internet, download it on another computer and transfer it to your computer via USB.

❷ Download “Norton Power Eraser”, which allows you to remove scareware: http://us.norton.com/products/tutorials/tutorials.jsp?pvid=nis2011&tutid=power_eraser This step is not necessary as long as step 4 works.

❸ If you were unable to do step 1 and/or 2, try the “Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10″: http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/rescuedisk You’ll need to burn this on a CD or make a bootable USB ► boot from this CD, which will scan your HDD and disinfect your computer. This is a great tool, because your operating system needs to boot for the virus to work. This CD allows you to get rid of the virus before it has a change to start its processes.

❹ Download and install “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (Free Edition)” (MBAM): http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Run a full-system scan with it.

❺ Install an anti-virus program with a better detection rate. If you are looking for a good, free anti-virus program, I recommend any of the three below in concurrent with “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (Free Edition)”:

▪ Avira AntiVir Personal (Free Antivirus): http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus

▪ Avast! Free Antivirus 6: http://www.avast.com/en-au/free-antivirus-download

▪ Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE): http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

When you run a system scan with your main anti-virus program, run a scan with MBAM after to increase your detection rate. The free edition of MBAM does not have real-time protection, so it’ll not interfere with your main anti-virus program. What I have mentioned above are light on your system, and have great detection rates.

TIPS TO BE SECURE:

▪ When you are on the Internet, do not click on all those adds and pop-ups. Avoid downloading or installing anything before doing research on it.

▪ If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure the pop-up blocker is set to medium or high.

▪ Download “Internet Explorer 9″ if you don’t have it already: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-9/worldwide-languages

▪ If you are using “FireFox”, download “Adblock Plus” add-on to block pop-ups.

▪ Run a regular scan with your anti-virus program.

Restart your computer in the safe mode. Tap the F8 button while your computer is starting up to get into the safe mode.

Download Malwarebytes to a flash drive and rename it to explorer.exe. Then launch explorer.exe in order to install Malwarebytes’ Anti-malware. Once Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is installed, navigate to your Program Files\Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware folder and locate the mbam.exe in there and rename it to explorer.exe. Now, run the program.

If this program works for you and you want to keep it, I suggest using the paid version. It is one of the best security program for your computer. Just remember to remove any other security software because they may interfere with one another and cause more problems.
