i do not know how i recieved this “anti virus” on my computer, but now every time I try to start an application or do a scan, all of my applications are terminated by this thing. All i see is, click here to update and protect your computer! I know its bogus, but what is it and how do i get rid of it?
Also, there is this screeching scream that comes on if i turn my volume one at any time, its really scary and annoying. Thanks to anyone that can help me out!

The key words here are SAFE MODE!!!
Download, (if you can’t get on-line, have a friend download and copy to disc/flash for transfer) install, update and then in SAFE MODE* run full scans with these programs…

Then re-start.
If you can’t run a scan, go into the scanner’s folder and re-name the .exe file to something like ‘MyFile.exe’ and try in safe mode again. Some malware prevent the execution of anti spy/mal/virus scans by blocking them by name.
You should consider getting a good Anti-Virus program.

*Note: On start up (before Windows loads) keep tapping either F5 or F8 (be aware that some manufacturers use F8 for system recovery!) then use arrow keys to highlight ‘Safe Mode with networking’ and hit Enter/Return, click on a user account, enter the Administrator password (if you don’t know it, there probably isn’t one so leave it blank) and hit Enter/Return.
**Note: Malwarebytes should be run in ‘Normal Mode’ unless that isn’t possible!

I don’t know about the noise, sorry.
But, I’ve had that virus (or a similar one) that acts as you describe.
Start the computer in safe mode, with networking (so that you can download the needed software).
Run AVG Free
Run MalwareBytes free
(you will need to download them, install them, and update (!) them.
I put a shortcut for each at the top left of my desktop so that they are EASY to find!

Okay, your probably on a Windows computer, and you know how to use it, so I’ll simplify the steps.
1. Restart the computer and get into “safe mode”.
2. Start up in the mode and get on the internet browser.
3. Get on Microsoft.com and search for the online computer scan.
4. Run it.
5. If it finds the program that is the virus, then make it get deleted through the scan.
6. If it is not found, google online virus scans and find a trusted site, something with a commonly known name like Norton or Microsoft or Avast or even AVG.
7. If the problem persists, find a trustworthy tech engineer to help.

it’s a rootkit which normal windows programs can’t deal with go to www.bleepingcomputer.com for full removal instructions meanwhile download malwarebytes which you will need but you can also open task manager and identify the rogue process then start in safe mode and search your computer for the file and delete it, a difficult one may also need sophos, unhackme or combofix to delete, good old microsoft making an O/S that is stupidly vulnerable to garbage

Reboot your computer in safe mode with networking. While the computer is starting please being to repeatedly tap the F8 key on your keyboard. This will open up the Advanced Boot Options screen, in Windows 7 or Vista, or the Windows Advanced Options Menu in Windows XP. At the above screen you will see a variety of options that can be used to boot Windows. Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, highlight the option labeled Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Once it is highlighted, click on the Enter key on your keyboard.
Open Internet Exporer and download Malwarebytes, SUPERAntispyware or Hitman Pro and run a full system scan. Then reboot your computer in normal mode and re-scan your PC with anti-virus software.
