The non-living virus vaccine, how does it work?

Uncertainty made by SpiralArchitect: If viruses are non-living, then how do vaccines work?

I was always told that vaccines worked by administering a “dead” virus into your body so that you became immune to it. However, viruses are non-living, so how is it possible to render them harmless, wouldn’t you have to basically change their genetic code, and wouldn’t that defeat the purpose anyway? I mean obviously they work, but how? How are you able to, say, inject yourself with the polio virus and become immune to it without ever becoming sick? Also, what is a “live-virus” vaccine supposed to be if viruses are not living?

That is certainly related to If viruses are non-living, then how do vaccines work? that you’ll will have to solve troubles for their own reasons. Preferably it will aid in many ways: and making your life much better. Hoping related to If viruses are non-living, then how do vaccines work? happens to be a cure into the future.

This is simplified but basically how it works is the vaccines that are” dead” are altered usually by deleting a few genes sometimes they use a virus (that is less harmful or not able to be contracted by humans)very similar to the virus that you are being protected from and they sometimes use such a small amount of live virus that you immune system beats it before you get sick.

Vaccines work with your immune system when a pathogen enters your body white blood cells come and attack, special cells attach to a virus (or other pathogen)and “learn”about it this can take some time meanwhile the virus is multiplying once the white cell has “learned” about the virus it uses other white cells to create other white cells that kill the virus cells .If it toke too long for your body to “learn about this virus then the virus has time to multiply and make you sick, if it is a bad virus that multiplies very quickly then you get very sick and maybe die. A vaccine “teaches “your white cells about the virus so that when it gets into your body your white blood cells don’t have to take the time to “learn about the virus they can get strait to work making the white cells that will kill it and the virus has little time to multiply.

So a “dead”vaccine is altered enough so that it can not make you sick but will still be recognized by your white cells when the “real”virus gets in your system

and a live vaccine is the actual virus itself but so small an amount that your body fights it of before you get but will “remember”it when it comes back

Fully grasp far better?
