I don’t have alot of money to pay for the big companies subscription based antivirus software so I’m looking for the best I can get freeware or otherwise. Prevx worked well but I used up the 30 day trial. Also have spybot but that’s not doing so well either. Any other suggestions?

I use the free download from Microsoft’s site. It is called “Spybot search and destroy.” I use it every few days and it gets out a group of new ones. I helped friends who had ignored spyware and it took out hundreds that had accumulated and made their computers too slow to use.
I don’t know if it gets out all of them but it looks like it works as well as ones I had previously paid for and used.

I use “avast ” home version,and, it works for me. It already blocked a couple. I also use “Adaware”…
