Windows system restore does not remove your files. Your pc manufacturer probably gave you a system restore disc also, the disc you put in your computer will remove all your files.

Well you are receiving bad advice dear. Never use system restore to get rid of an infection. Chances are the malware exist in system restore files as well. The first thing not to do is click on the X to exit the program or pop-ups if and when they appear. This will only execute the malware. Press Alt + F4 to exit the pop-ups. Next, click on the first link below and choose save. Save the file to your desktop for convenience. Click on the icon and let rkill run. This should end the process of the virus allowing you to download Malwarebytes from the second link. Update and choose quick scan of MBAM.*

It depends on how far back you go.. It won’t get rid of like documents you created since you’ve installed, but if there’s programs you’ve installed since you installed the virus protector then you’ll lose those. So, before you go to the restore point before you installed the virus protector, then better find the installers for the programs you installed since then… And if your still worried bout documents, music files or what ever, better back them up and remove the external divice, before going to the restore point

The says by itself. System Restore, because it restores the computer till a date you gave it. The things that are restored are the registry, program files, windows itself. Everything that is in the directory where you have installed your OS, that includes your desktop. If you have files in different drives they won’t be touched.

BUT if what people are saying that there is a big system restore witch puts you back true EVERYTHING then you will lose it, not sure about that.

There is a confusion of similar terms here:

==========

Microsoft has sofware that is part of Windows that they call System Restore. This can be disabled. It is intended for people who install legitimate software, it makes it possible for them to “reverse” an installation if the software is not to their liking.

The Microsoft System Restore is not supposed to get rid of your data.

Malware does not use this System Restore, and since malware can contaminate Windows in many ways, the System Restore usually cannot remove malware.

==========

Companies that manufacture computers provide the factory software already installed on the computer’s hard disk. They also provide the software to re-install the factory software. Some companies provide a disc they call a “restoral disc” – which has nothing to do with Microsoft System Restore. Some manufacturers provide a partition on the hard drive, from which a “restoral disc” can be made by the user.

This “restoral disc” should be called a “factory-software installation disc”. It will format the hard drive and reinstall the factory software so your computer is “back to new” – this wipes out all your data and hopefully wipes out any malware that is on the hard drive. You have to start over with setting your computer the way you want it.

This will get rid of all of your files. So you want to make copies of your files, burn CDs. DVDs, or use a portable hard drive or an external hard drive.

==========

Malware is getting very difficult to remove these days, sometimes there are several malware programs running on a PC and you have to run the anti-malware programs over and over, get rid of the weak ones first and then the tougher ones.

Due to this difficulty, it is very time consuming, and sometimes it is faster just to re-install the factory software and start over.

==========

You can try using the Malwarebytes program to remove that virus, no guarantees however.

The Bleeping Computer website has a guide to removing it, Malwarebytes is their favorite program:
