Don’t give them any Personal info. They are trying to steal your Identity. Go to www.cnet.com and download AVG Free Anti virus 8. It is Free, effective, and should rid your computer of that other stuff.

I use AVG on my computer,

Answer by The Phlebob
Scam. Personal Antivirus IS malware. Do not pay them or give them information.

If you have an anti-virus, make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. That often prevents malware from protecting itself. If you don’t have one, many people here swear by AVG (it’s free).

I suggest you also download Ad-Aware Free and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them, again in Safe Mode With Networking.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking:

1.Log out and reboot your machine.

2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

3.Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

4.Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.

5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.

6.When you’re finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes.

Update and run everything regularly, not just when you think you already have malware.

Good luck.

Get Avast! Home Edition, a free anti-virus program.

Answer by lostdog
Get a real-time anti virus program, only download from sites that you trust. And scan any files before opening or running them.

Answer by Travis
Install a real time virus scanner. A real time virus scanner constantly scans your PC including new files as you download them, making sure they have no viruses before you use them. I use McAfee, a paid program. However you can just as easily download free virus scanners. I wouldn’t say they are as reliable as one you can buy at an electronics store, but they are much better than nothing.

Try AVG http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

Avast http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html

or Avira http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html

Also install Web of Trust for your browser. It will warn you when you visit a nasty virus-infected site.

http://www.mywot.com/

Changing your IP address won’t help.

Answer by Ray
Forget changing the IP adress. Get better anti-virus software. Just type in “Microsoft Anti virus programs” There should be some you can pick from, I personally like Microsoft Security Essencials its free, but it requires you to update it manually every day. and scan everything thats not lisenced before you download it.

Answer by TempoOne
You need to use good anti-virus software with real time protection (but I’m sure you already knew that) and….

You also must keep your Windows and all your installed software 100% patched and updated. An unpatched computer allows trojans, virus and malware to install itself without you doing a thing. Adobe products (Flash-Player, Acrobat, Reader) are notorious for needing constant updating to plug security vulnerabilities. Sun Java too.

I suggest that Secunia PSI to insure that all one’s software is kept always updated and patched:

http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/

You IP address has nothing to do with the issue.

Its free.

Answer by soupfine
Avoid websites, links and downloads that are risky for malware. It’s not that hard to do. Use common sense and learn how to recognize bs.

WOT is pretty good a keeping you out of risky sites.

Answer by Phantom
You can’t change your IP address unless you get a new computer.

However, anti-virus software would be very, very helpful. But, don’t use Norton 360 Anti-Virus, my desktop got a virus every month or so with that anti-virus “protection”.

Answer by Dhanush
USE KASPERSKY PURE

IT ROCKZZZZ!!!

Answer by Drake
Your situation sounds like someone with you on their mailing list got hacked, the most effective remedy would be to have all your friends remove you and then clear your mailing list, writing down their e-mails into a book, then run a virus scan and set up a firewall, effectively stopping viruses from entering (with the firewall), while decontaminating your computer (by scanning for and eliminating, viruses, trojans, etc.) and avoiding the bulk of the trojans (by stopping automatic senders from mailing you). I have also written a few other long-term solutons below:

A) Get antivirus software:

antivirus software also blocks trojans, many also include firewalls (which block oncoming viruses and trojans before they arrive) and anti-spyware (which detects and destroys programs that may be monitoring your computer use).

Commercially available programs are usually very efficient, while there are also effective free programs available online. AVG, for instance, is a good one, though make sure to do your research before downloading.

B) Run regular scans:

Run a complete scan your computer once a week. If you have antivirus software, simply open the program and press scan, although most programs do this automatically.

C) Be computer-wise:

Read through every e-mail completely, if something looks off, it probably is.

Don’t open attached files without confirmation. Call or text the friend (if possible) and find out if they sent it.

Don’t open unwanted mail. If it’s from somewhere you didn’t sign up for or from someone you don’t know, just delete it.

A Trojan horse, or trojan for short, is a term used to describe malware that appears, to the user, to perform a desirable function but, in fact, facilitates unauthorized access to the user’s computer system. The term comes from the Trojan Horse story in Greek mythology. Trojan horses are not self-replicating which distinguishes them from viruses and worms. Additionally, they require interaction with a hacker to fulfil their purpose. The hacker need not be the individual responsible for distributing the Trojan horse. It is possible for hackers to scan computers on a network using a port scanner in the hope of finding one with a Trojan horse installe.

Well, if your computer has been infected with a virus, then the virus is in your computer. I’ve never heard of a bug that causes an auto restart though.

If you have anti virus software installed on your comp, then run a full scan.

I recommend that you get a free registry fix program. There are several on cnet.com.

If I were you, I’d get “Advanced System Care Free Edition” from cnet.com, and run all the checks and fixes you can with it.

Here’s a link:

http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html

Maybe try Malwarebytes-antimalware as well:

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

I’ve been going to putlocker for a long time, and never had that happen. Make sure you’ve allowed your computer all the recent updates. Google “Microsoft Update”, and let it check your computer.

If you have an older computer, that could also be the problem, it could just be crashing because of the amount of memory you use when a video is playing. Advanced System Care has an option to “optimize” your computer in one click.

You probably already know this, but you might also try going to Start> Accessories> System Tools> and then use both the disk cleanup, and disk defragment options.

Again though, if it’s a “virus” as you put it, then the virus is no longer just on putlocker, it’s also in your computer. Viruses come from the web, and infect peoples computers. They don’t leave the computer until you use antivirus software to remove them. There’s lots of free antivirus software out there that’s just as good if not better than the ones that cost money.

If it’s just a “bug” in putlocker’s website, then cleaning your registry with ASC and updating your computer should fix the problem.

First go uninstall frostwire..then go to limewire and re-install it. It should work fine.

Then go to download.com and download “Avira antivirus”, its free and a great antivirus software, then totally disconnect from the internet (as in unplug everything) and run a full system scan. It will find the crap on ur computer.

Answer by William
There could be lots of reasons FrostWire is not working; it is not necessarily because you have a virus. You should run a scan on your computer and see if you have any. I presume you have anti-virus software–you can scan your computer for viruses and should regularly anyway. You can download a free program called Malwarebytes anti-virus from Malwarebytes.org that does a good job scanning for and removing viruses.

You can’t just delete a program if you want to get it off your computer, you have to uninstall it. You can try uninstalling FrostWire and re-installing it. In order for it to connect you have to allow it through your firewall.

I’m not sure how you removed it, but if it was loaded with viruses, they may still be on your system.

If you have anti-virus software, run it through a deep scan of your entire system. If you don’t, there are free virus scanners online. Here are two:

http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-…

You should also scan for malware. Malwarebytes is a good program. Also, scan for spyware with Spybot – Search & Destroy.

All of this may get rid of everything, but just keep in mind that you have been infected, so your computer and it’s safety is compromised. A complete format and re-install is probably good in the long run. You could always burn backups of your data and rescan them before you load them back to the fresh system.

Good luck!

Download and install a good antivirus software.

Boot your computer in safe-mode. To do this press F8 key repeatedly when you start your computer. A screen will display several options to go into. Choose Safe mode.

When in safe mode scan your computer with the antivirus.

Safe-mode does not load all drivers etc. onto the system when loaded. Hence there is a high chance that you are able to perform scans, uninstalls properly if having problems in normal windows.

Answer by Astaroth
First thing you need to do is kill the process:

1)hit ctrl+alt+del and select the process tab

2)look for any processes called personalAV, PersonalAntivirus or PAV

3)kill those processes by clicking on them and clicking “End Process”

4)Warning may come up saying that this can make your computer unstable, you can ok this

Next delete the files

1)Browse to your “program files” directory. You are looking for a sub directory called personalAV, PersonalAntivirus or PAV.

2)Delete this subdirectory by clicking on it and pressing the delete key on the keyboard

3)If it asks for confirmation, then confirm it.

Next clean the registry (here be dragons, getting this wrong will royally f##k your computer so be careful)

1)start|run and enter “regedit” and select “ok”

2)press ctrl+F and enter “personalav”

3)delete any entry relating to “personav” press F3 to search for the next one

4) do the same searching for “personal antivirus”

Now, install spybot S&D available from http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/… and run a scan. Make sure your virus definitions are up to date. If you don’t have antivirus, then get some. I use the free AVG from http://free.avg.com. Some people will say that AVG is no good, but it works for me.

Internet Security 2010 is a rogue anti-spyware program that is installed through the use of malware. Once installed, Internet Security will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. It will then scan your computer and display numerous infections, but will not remove anything until you purchase the program. These infections, though, are all fake and are only being shown to trick you into thinking you are infected so that you then purchase the program. It goes without saying that you should definitely not purchase this program.

Trouble from Glas: I’ve been infected by command.exe and asapprsv.dll. How do I get rid of it?

It seems to be fairly common issue — but despite my research I’ve yet to find a for sure way to handle it. Keep getting annoying internet pop-ups, very much slowing down my computer, etc.

I’ve run, Spybot, True sword, Norton’s antivirus — “command.exe and asapprsv.dll” have been identified as viruses but none of these can seem to delete it.

Any suggestons?

try avast antivirus ….i hav been using it for quite sometime…n its pretty efficient…n the person above has listed many other applications….which might b able to delete the troubling files…

u can also search for these files on ur comp n delete them manually…although a risk as .dll files r associated wid the windows os…

Answer by King
that is a little bit strange, as norton has been used to remove this in the past, my suggestion is that you may not have logged in as admin when you did this, this will normally not matter, but it may well require that you manually delete command.exe

i suggest you update your antivirus and then try again,

if you are still getting pop ups then it means you do not have any pop up blocker and anti spyware installed at the moment.

update you norton antivirus, if you run the scan and it tells you where the antivirus is located, you can open dos propmt

Answer by Tom J
all talk download the avast.com home edition is free is really good good luck

Try a online antivirus scanner and a online anti-adware/malware/spyware scanner in safe mode with network to clean up your computer BEFORE you download anything. This becouce the program you download can get infectet.

To reformat you computer and reinstall is the last option.

Disable “System Restore” for Windows Me and XP, then restart your PC to clean your system restore points for viruses, spyware, adware etc.

To get in safe mode Press “F8″ upon bootup.

Select “Safe mode with Networking”.

Go to Start – Run – type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html Enter(ok).

Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.

When that scan does not find anything you reboot again in safe mode with network.

Go to Start – Run – type iexplore http://www.ewido.net/en/ Enter(ok).

Do a full system scan. If something is found, delete it, reboot and do the same again in safe mode with network.

**NOTE: Do NOT do anything else with your computer when scanning. This because you can start virus/adware/spyware/malware manually.

When no one of these scanners are showing anything you can reboot back to normal mode.

Turn on “System Restore”.

If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven’t intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been “hijacked” (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. What you have is called a “Fakeware” . It’s a virus, as you stated, pretending to be an anti virus. At least you know not to send them any money, that’s very good. They want your credit card infomation, that’s what these virus scams are all about.

Besides a good anti virus, you should are yourself with a good anti – malware, like Malwarebytes. It’s the one I use, and it’s pulled 25 viruses/malwares out of my home network in the last week! Needless to say, I swear by it!

It doesn’t cost much if you consider the safety especially if you conduct financial transactions etc.. While you are at it you should get a licensed copy of Windows if you haven’t already…

The well known anti-virus by most people used is about tens, such as AVG, Avira,Norton, PC Tools, Trend Micro, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, SafeSquid, Acronis and so on. There is less difference between these anti-virus for personal use. The variety just due to the difference of the people’s use of habit.

So in this way, I’ll give you a rank list of anti-virus most used by people. http://www.softcns.com/search/anti-virus_1.html (I personally recommend BitDefender anti-virus. By the way, the address above is a most most discount place.)

My recommendation: Avira Anivir [link below].

And YES free antivirus exist and do work as long as you keep their virus definition up to date, do regular scans and also use a complementary anti-spy/malware program [Antivir has one built-in BTW].

Malwarebytes is one: and a free one too! [link below as well]
