I was infected with the fake program Personal Antivirus a few days ago. By the time i was able to remove it my computer was running much slower and i was unable to search with any search engines?

does anyone know a way to get it back to normal?

I’m not sure how you removed it, but if it was loaded with viruses, they may still be on your system.

If you have anti-virus software, run it through a deep scan of your entire system. If you don’t, there are free virus scanners online. Here are two:

You should also scan for malware. Malwarebytes is a good program. Also, scan for spyware with Spybot – Search & Destroy.

All of this may get rid of everything, but just keep in mind that you have been infected, so your computer and it’s safety is compromised. A complete format and re-install is probably good in the long run. You could always burn backups of your data and rescan them before you load them back to the fresh system.

Problem caused by : ^{Why is my friend’s Yahoo Answers account suspended?}

My friend created his account 2 days back

He answered a question “Which is the Best Antivirus”

and his answer is “AVG is the best. Using it with a combination of Avast would be much better option”

He also gave full version links to those softwares

He used the links from “linkbucks”

And his account is suspended yesterday.

What would be the reason

is it for posting a full version link

or

using linkbucks to get paid for his links

I did’nt used to have anti virus on my system, so this virus has been put into my computer, I changed my windows but nothing happened. Even it doesn’t let me install an anti virus program. Is there anyway to get rid of that without formatting my partitions coz keeping all my data is really tough.

hi i recomend you to try a program for your computer from eacceleration. it will remove the viruses trojans and spyware from your pc. i tell you this from my experience it worked for my pc and also my husbands we had spyware cookies etc and viruses and trojans and it cleaned it all up and deleted them all.

Download Kaspersky Internet security suite which has a brilliant anti virus program.If you go to there site you can also do an online scan. But for your own sake always use antivirus software

sometimes if you create a new folder and you set that folder in a application then it wont go away. i will give you an example. i create a new folder in my documents and put my fav mp3 tracks in there. i then goto windows media player settings and put that folder as a default so windows picks it up easier so i can burn to cd. when cd done, i have finished with that folder and delete it in my documents. later that folder has come back and keeps coming back until you stop using that folder as a default folder like i did in windows. i hope this helps

Download and install a good antivirus software.

Boot your computer in safe-mode. To do this press F8 key repeatedly when you start your computer. A screen will display several options to go into. Choose Safe mode.

When in safe mode scan your computer with the antivirus.

Safe-mode does not load all drivers etc. onto the system when loaded. Hence there is a high chance that you are able to perform scans, uninstalls properly if having problems in normal windows.
