Or you can try to boot the PC into Safe mode by pressing F5 at boot up, this might not load the bug,and then you can scan with anti virus and spy ware software.
If all else fails and you dont care about wiping out the info on your hard drive.geta Win 98 start up disk, but it up run fdisk and delte the Non Dos partition.

Get Avast! Home Edition, a free anti-virus program.
Answer by lostdog Get a real-time anti virus program, only download from sites that you trust. And scan any files before opening or running them.
Answer by Travis Install a real time virus scanner. A real time virus scanner constantly scans your PC including new files as you download them, making sure they have no viruses before you use them. I use McAfee, a paid program. However you can just as easily download free virus scanners. I wouldn’t say they are as reliable as one you can buy at an electronics store, but they are much better than nothing.
or Avira http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html
Also install Web of Trust for your browser. It will warn you when you visit a nasty virus-infected site.

Changing your IP address won’t help.
Answer by Ray Forget changing the IP adress. Get better anti-virus software. Just type in “Microsoft Anti virus programs” There should be some you can pick from, I personally like Microsoft Security Essencials its free, but it requires you to update it manually every day. and scan everything thats not lisenced before you download it.
Answer by TempoOne You need to use good anti-virus software with real time protection (but I’m sure you already knew that) and….
You also must keep your Windows and all your installed software 100% patched and updated. An unpatched computer allows trojans, virus and malware to install itself without you doing a thing. Adobe products (Flash-Player, Acrobat, Reader) are notorious for needing constant updating to plug security vulnerabilities. Sun Java too.
I suggest that Secunia PSI to insure that all one’s software is kept always updated and patched:
Answer by soupfine Avoid websites, links and downloads that are risky for malware. It’s not that hard to do. Use common sense and learn how to recognize bs.
WOT is pretty good a keeping you out of risky sites.
Answer by Phantom You can’t change your IP address unless you get a new computer.
However, anti-virus software would be very, very helpful. But, don’t use Norton 360 Anti-Virus, my desktop got a virus every month or so with that anti-virus “protection”.
Answer by Dhanush USE KASPERSKY PURE
IT ROCKZZZZ!!!
Answer by Drake Your situation sounds like someone with you on their mailing list got hacked, the most effective remedy would be to have all your friends remove you and then clear your mailing list, writing down their e-mails into a book, then run a virus scan and set up a firewall, effectively stopping viruses from entering (with the firewall), while decontaminating your computer (by scanning for and eliminating, viruses, trojans, etc.) and avoiding the bulk of the trojans (by stopping automatic senders from mailing you). I have also written a few other long-term solutons below:
A) Get antivirus software:
antivirus software also blocks trojans, many also include firewalls (which block oncoming viruses and trojans before they arrive) and anti-spyware (which detects and destroys programs that may be monitoring your computer use).
Commercially available programs are usually very efficient, while there are also effective free programs available online. AVG, for instance, is a good one, though make sure to do your research before downloading.
B) Run regular scans:
Run a complete scan your computer once a week. If you have antivirus software, simply open the program and press scan, although most programs do this automatically.
C) Be computer-wise:
Read through every e-mail completely, if something looks off, it probably is.
Don’t open attached files without confirmation. Call or text the friend (if possible) and find out if they sent it.
Don’t open unwanted mail. If it’s from somewhere you didn’t sign up for or from someone you don’t know, just delete it.

Answer by Netcard Gsf A Trojan horse, or trojan for short, is a term used to describe malware that appears, to the user, to perform a desirable function but, in fact, facilitates unauthorized access to the user’s computer system. The term comes from the Trojan Horse story in Greek mythology. Trojan horses are not self-replicating which distinguishes them from viruses and worms. Additionally, they require interaction with a hacker to fulfil their purpose. The hacker need not be the individual responsible for distributing the Trojan horse. It is possible for hackers to scan computers on a network using a port scanner in the hope of finding one with a Trojan horse installe.

Adware mean :
Adware
Adware is considered a legitmate alternative offered to consumers who do not wish to pay for software. Programs, games or utilities can be designed and distributed as freeware. Sometimes freeware blocks features and functions of the software until you pay to register it. Today we have a growing number of software developers who offer their goods as “sponsored” freeware until you pay to register. Generally most or all features of the freeware are enabled but you will be viewing sponsored advertisements while the software is being used. The advertisements usually run in a small section of the software interface or as a pop-up ad box on your desktop. When you stop running the software, the ads should disappear. This allows consumers to try the software before they buy and you always have the option of disabling the ads by purchasing a registration key.
In many cases, adware is a legitimate revenue source for companies who offer their software free to users. A perfect example of this would be the popular e-mail program, Eudora. You can choose to purchase Eudora or run the software in sponsored mode. In sponsored mode Eudora will display an ad window in the program and up to three sponsored toolbar links. Eudora adware is not malicious; it reportedly doesn’t track your habits or provide information about you to a third party. This type of adware is simply serving up random paid ads within the program. When you quit the program the ads will stop running on your system.
Spyware mean:
Unfortunately, some freeware applications which contain adware do track your surfing habits in order to serve ads related to you. When the adware becomes intrusive like this, then we move it in the spyware category and it then becomes something you should avoid for privacy and security reasons. Due to its invasive nature, spyware has really given adware a bad name as many people do not know the differences between the two, or use the the terms interchangeably.
Spyware is considered a malicious program and is similar to a Trojan Horse in that users unwittingly install the product when they install something else. A common way to become a victim of spyware is to download certain peer-to-peer file swapping products that are available today.
Spyware works like adware but is usually a separate program that is installed unknowingly when you install another freeware type program or application. Once installed, the spyware monitors user activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to someone else. Spyware can also gather information about e-mail addresses and even passwords and credit card numbers.
Because spyware exists as independent executable programs, they have the capability to monitor your keystrokes, scan files on the hard drive, snoop other applications, such as chat programs or word processors, install other spyware programs, read cookies, change the default home page on the Web browser, while consistently relaying this information back to the spyware author who will either use it for advertising and marketing purposes or sell the information to another party.
Licensing agreements that accompany software downloads sometimes warn the user that a spyware program will be installed along with the requested software, but the licensing agreements are not always be read completely by users because the notice of a spyware installation is often couched in obtuse, hard-to-read legal disclaimers
Combating Spyware :
While one may not realize they have installed spyware, there are some signs that it exists on your computer. If you notice any changes to your Web browser that you did not make such as extra toolbars or different homepage settings, as well as changes to your security settings and favorites list, you could have spyware running on your system. Other signs of a spyware infection include pop-up ads which aren’t related to a Web site you’re viewing; usually spyware advertisements are adult content in nature and are not displayed in the same fashion as legitimate ads you would normally see on your favorite Web sites. You may also see advertisements when you’re not browsing the Web. Clicking hyperlinks which do not work (or take you somewhere you didn’t expect), a sluggish system, or your system taking longer to load the Windows desktop are all signs that your computer may be infected with spyware.
With the onset of spyware comes a plethora of anti-spyware software packages to rid your system of these unwanted and malicious programs. Anti-spyware software works by identifying any spyware installed on your system and removing it. Since spyware is installed like any other application on your system it will leave traces of itself in the system registry and in other places on your computer. Anti-spyware software will look for evidence of these files and delete them if found.
It is important to remember that not all companies who claim their software contains adware are really offering adware. There is always a chance that adware is spyware in disguise so to speak, and that programs with embedded spyware may not state its existence at all. Always stay on the side of caution and be sure to research privacy policies and licensing agreements that come with freeware. You should also become familiar with Internet lists of companies reported to be using spyware. Much like a firewall or anti-virus program, anti-spyware software is crucial to maintain optimal protection and security on your computer and network
Spyware = any program that spies on you or your computer and reports back to a server.
Malware = any program that you don’t want on your computer that was put there without your intention (viruses, worms, spyware, trojans, etc.)
Adware = any program designed to give you ads, pop up or otherwise
Cookies = a small text file that your browser puts on your computer when you visit some sites. They are usually harmless and are used, for example, to store your login information for a website. Some cookies are for ad sites, and those are the ones you don’t necessarily want
Virus = malicious code that hides in an executable or other type of file and does something when that program is run
Worm = malicious code that spreads through the internet, sometimes through email, and sometimes by exploiting vulnerabilities in unpatched operating systems
Trojan = malicious code embedded in a file that you think is good. The term ‘trojan’ refers to the famous Trojan Horse. You are tricked into running a program named ‘Kazaa_installer.exe’ and it turns out to be a worm
Answer by krishna kumar Malware is short for malicious software. Malware is software designed specifically to disrupt a computer system. A trojan horse , worm or a virus could be classified as Malware. Some advertising software can be malicious in that it can try to re-install itself after you remove it.
spyware ….A form of Malware that is often associated with Browser Hijacking, Keyloggers, and recording / sending web browsing habits to a 3rd party. Spyware is one of the most common forms of malware, and often slows the performance of your computer. …
adware…A type of Advertising Display Software that delivers advertising content potentially in a manner or context that may be unexpected and unwanted by users. Many adware applications also perform tracking functions, and therefore may also be categorized as Tracking Technologies. …
virus ..A computer virus is a piece of code that is secretly introduced into a system in order to corrupt it or destroy data. Often viruses are hidden in other programs or documents and when opened, the virus is let loose.

Answer by RWEEYUMS First go uninstall frostwire..then go to limewire and re-install it. It should work fine.
Then go to download.com and download “Avira antivirus”, its free and a great antivirus software, then totally disconnect from the internet (as in unplug everything) and run a full system scan. It will find the crap on ur computer.
Answer by William There could be lots of reasons FrostWire is not working; it is not necessarily because you have a virus. You should run a scan on your computer and see if you have any. I presume you have anti-virus software–you can scan your computer for viruses and should regularly anyway. You can download a free program called Malwarebytes anti-virus from Malwarebytes.org that does a good job scanning for and removing viruses.
You can’t just delete a program if you want to get it off your computer, you have to uninstall it. You can try uninstalling FrostWire and re-installing it. In order for it to connect you have to allow it through your firewall.

Answer by Bomber it sound like one of the many fake anti virus’s it’s trying to extort money from you what ever you do don’t buy it.
to get rid of it run an anti virus scan if that doesn’t find it try using an anti malware program such as malwarebytes anti malware and running a scan with that you can get it for free here http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Answer by Luther H 1878, this is a scare tactic and a rogue malware program. It’s like a virus and can be a nuisance to deal with because it keeps popping up.
Let’s get rid of it shall we?
Go here and download combo-fix.exe : http://www.combofix.org/download.php and save it to your desktop.
Now this is the tricky part.
Disconnect from the internet, because the “virus” that you have continues to “call” home wanting you do “download” their product. Meaning UNPLUG from the internet
TURN off your anti-virus and any other programs and you have running in the task bar, not the system tray. We want that “virus” to be caught
Run combo fix and wait. For systems that have several drives and a large hdd, this could take a while, get a coffee and come back in a few minutes. 250 GB takes 35 minutes after starting on my system.
Once combo fix has ran, it will restart your system automatically and finish up the process.
Once the combo has finished, you will see a text file that will be stored into your computer telling you all sorts of things about what it had found and removed.
Now connect back to the internet and let’s get you some protection
Go here and download spybot search and destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html and get the 1.6.2 version. Download and install and UNCHECK the “tea timer” . After install, open the program and update everything.
Wait and download mbam from their server this free version: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Download and install and wait.
Spybot still up? Good, Run this program and let it finish. When the scan is done, you will see various items that come up and have a check marc beside them. You can uncheck the items that you do not want to have removed if you know for sure that they are safe.
Once that is done, look to the left navigation pane and you will see a “shield”. Click this and at the top of the page you will see Immunize is there. Make sure that you are not on the internet or have any browsers open. The process will start and then check again. Done and close this program
Now open MBAM and start a full system scan. This program will capture anything that your anti-virus and spybot did not capture.
After this is done, start your anti-virus and do a full system scan. make sure that you update your anti-virus
You should now have a clean system. MBAM and spybot will help protect you when you get a rogue spyware program.
Answer by Giedrius M Check out this guide how to fix internet connection : http://www.2-viruses.com/how-to-fix-google-results-hijacker-google-redirect-virus-problem

I have never heard of a camera-based virus, nor would I ever see a reason to make one.

do a full system scan, and make sure you keep them upto date and do a scan regularly.
Answer by Ashely Corner I’ve never heard of this before. Get “Avast!” free anti virus. It protects you against viruses, alerts you if one has been detected, and does daily scans of your computer. For $ 20 you can get the more advanced version that has a lot more protection. If you have a windows computer go down the little box that comes up when you click the windows symbol on the bottom left corner of your computer. Search “windows defender”. Do a virus scan using both windows defender and “Avast!”. Do NOT use Norton. It slows down your computer.
If it’s something called System Tool be warned. It’s a Trojan virus. It tries to get you to enter your credit card number so it can charge you to get rid of the virus. DON’T do it. It’s a scam. If all else fails try calling Geek Squad or go to Office Depot. Good luck xx
Answer by Leon As long as you got a good antivirus software on your PC and it is updated you should be okay, and anyone who tells you it is a virus it is rubbish, You have jumped on a site that uses a company that wants to sell you their virus software. when you see what looks like the software reading your hard drive it is just a graphic pretending it is reading your computer.

Quandary courtesy of john: How do I solve redirect problem on my search engines?
Whenever I do a yahoo search, When i click on one of my search results it always redirects me to some other search engine instead of going to my link. How do I get rid of this. Malwarebytes doesnt get rid of it.
This will be information on How do I solve redirect problem on my search engines? that you may aspire to resolve troubles theirselves. With a little luck this element helps in lots of ways… and help your own life greater. Who want information on How do I solve redirect problem on my search engines? may possibly be a strategy someday. Best solution:
Answer by David Vandertramp You have a virus. This virus is known as the “Search Redirect Virus” and manipulates search results to redirect you from genuine links to advertisements and other irrelevant websites.
Malwarebytes cannot detect, and therefore remove, this virus because it infects computers in a totally unique way. The virus infects a few system files and changes the way the operating system uses the internet via the web browser. Conventional anti virus are not designed to deal with this kind of infection, they are only designed to detect malicious software running.
The virus works by altering a few settings in this system file. Since Google always takes you to another Google website before taking you onward to your actual link, this middle step can be intercepted by the virus. It takes advantage of this small flaw to redirect you. It can be extremely irritating as it only occurs sporadically.
In my experience of this virus, the only way to remove it is to manually remove it with the help of a program called ComboFix. This program finds the corrupt system file and restores it back to it’s original state. You can find ComboFix, with an excellent tutorial, here:

Answer by Ratto Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to infiltrate a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.
A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer. The term “virus” is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, including but not limited to adware and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability.
A true virus can spread from one computer to another (in some form of executable code) when its host is taken to the target computer; for instance because a user sent it over a network or the Internet, or carried it on a removable medium such as a floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB drive.
Answer by Danny G Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to secretly access a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.
Software is considered to be Malware based on the perceived intent of the creator rather than any particular features. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, scareware, crimeware, most rootkits, and other malicious and unwanted software or program. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant, for instance in the legal codes of several U. S. states, including California and West Virginia.
Malware is not the same as defective software, that is, software that has a legitimate purpose but contains harmful bugs. Sometimes, malware is disguised as genuine software, and may come from an official site. Therefore, some security programs, such as McAfee may call malware “potentially unwanted programs” or “PUP”. Though a computer virus is malware that can reproduce itself, the term is often used erroneously to refer to the entire category. Malware is sometimes called scumware.
On the other hand Antivirus/ Virus is
A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself[1] and infect a computer.
Viruses can increase their chances of spreading to other computers by infecting files on a network file system or a file system that is accessed by another computer.
As stated above, the term “computer virus” is sometimes used as a catch-all phrase to include all types of malware, even those that do not have the reproductive ability. Malware includes computer viruses, computer worms, Trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware and other malicious and unwanted software, including true viruses. Viruses are sometimes confused with worms and Trojan horses, which are technically different. A worm can exploit security vulnerabilities to spread itself automatically to other computers through networks, while a Trojan horse is a program that appears harmless but hides malicious functions. Worms and Trojan horses, like viruses, may harm a computer system’s data or performance. Some viruses and other malware have symptoms noticeable to the computer user, but many are surreptitious or simply do nothing to call attention to themselves. Some viruses do nothing beyond reproducing themselves.
So a good antivirus is any one that you’ve tested and you find acceptable and efficient at detecting threats like Avast

Answer by guy r Download Kaspersky Internet security suite which has a brilliant anti virus program. If you go to there site you can also do an online scan. But for your own sake always use antivirus software
Answer by jon sometimes if you create a new folder and you set that folder in a application then it wont go away. i will give you an example. i create a new folder in my documents and put my fav mp3 tracks in there. i then goto windows media player settings and put that folder as a default so windows picks it up easier so i can burn to cd. when cd done, i have finished with that folder and delete it in my documents. later that folder has come back and keeps coming back until you stop using that folder as a default folder like i did in windows. i hope this helps
Answer by thedeath Download and install a good antivirus software.
Boot your computer in safe-mode. To do this press F8 key repeatedly when you start your computer. A screen will display several options to go into. Choose Safe mode.
When in safe mode scan your computer with the antivirus.
Safe-mode does not load all drivers etc. onto the system when loaded. Hence there is a high chance that you are able to perform scans, uninstalls properly if having problems in normal windows.
Answer by VIKD I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at

Trouble courtesy of Lissa: What are the 3 strains in the flu vaccine?
I know that two of the strains are the swine flu and the bird flu, but what is the 3rd strain? I tried looking it up in the internet and found nothing. The vaccine box said the thrid strain was “B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus” Thanks if you can help

Dreaming about What are the 3 strains in the flu vaccine? would be the most efficient sometime soon. Solution:
Answer by Lisa K You must mean the seasonal flu vaccine as this one is trivalent (3 strains). There are two A viruses and one B virus. They are easy to remember this year- H1N1 (Brisbane), H3N2 (Brisbane) and B(Brisbane). The H1N1 in the seasonal flu shot is not the same as the 2009 H1N1 strain in the monovalent 2009 H1N1 vaccine coming out in a few weeks, and offers no protection against the 2009 H1N1 flu.
Have any idea better?

Answer by FrostyWinnipeg Malwarebytes Antimalware should fix it.
Answer by zep516 Internet Security 2010 is a rogue anti-spyware program that is installed through the use of malware. Once installed, Internet Security will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. It will then scan your computer and display numerous infections, but will not remove anything until you purchase the program. These infections, though, are all fake and are only being shown to trick you into thinking you are infected so that you then purchase the program. It goes without saying that you should definitely not purchase this program.

Main issue caused by sandagal: What is “tobacco mosaic virus” said to be transmitted to plants by smokers?
“Belle” asnwered a question about tomato plants and mentioned this virus transmitted by smokers who touch plants before washing hands. Just WHAT is this and can it be transmitted to other plants, as well? Very interested to know!
I’m a smoker..AND a gardener!
This is certainly with regards to What is “tobacco mosaic virus” said to be transmitted to plants by smokers? that you could aspire to resolve concerns individually. Thought to be able this will assist in many ways; and start making yourself greater. With the expectation with regards to What is “tobacco mosaic virus” said to be transmitted to plants by smokers? might possibly be a treatment later on in life. Solution:
Answer by simsta Tobacco mosaic is a virus of tobacco plants that makes the leaves look like mosaic. I kind of doubt the virus would survive the processing of raw tobacco to cigarettes, so I don’t think you could pass it on to your plants. Also it’s not something a human can catch, btw.
Answer by Tarlyng As an avid gardener and a smoker as well in the 10+ years that I have been handling plants(house & garden); I have never ran into this problem. In fact one of the old farmer’s trick to get rid of all of the insects in the garden was to use tobacco leaves that were soaked in water and then sprayed on the plants. If you are losing sleep over this, then try not to smoke around your plants and wash your hands before touching or handling them.
Answer by bairdt50 When I first read your question, I thought to myself there was no way tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) could be transmitted from gardeners who smoked. I did a little research, and it sounds like I was wrong.
TMV can be transmitted to your plants from contaminated cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco. It looks like the best thing to do is to not smoke WHILE you are gardening, and to wash your hands good before doing so.
