The Best Anti Virus is Northan Anti virus and kaspaskey.

Adware mean :

Adware

Adware is considered a legitmate alternative offered to consumers who do not wish to pay for software. Programs, games or utilities can be designed and distributed as freeware. Sometimes freeware blocks features and functions of the software until you pay to register it. Today we have a growing number of software developers who offer their goods as “sponsored” freeware until you pay to register. Generally most or all features of the freeware are enabled but you will be viewing sponsored advertisements while the software is being used. The advertisements usually run in a small section of the software interface or as a pop-up ad box on your desktop. When you stop running the software, the ads should disappear. This allows consumers to try the software before they buy and you always have the option of disabling the ads by purchasing a registration key.

In many cases, adware is a legitimate revenue source for companies who offer their software free to users. A perfect example of this would be the popular e-mail program, Eudora. You can choose to purchase Eudora or run the software in sponsored mode. In sponsored mode Eudora will display an ad window in the program and up to three sponsored toolbar links. Eudora adware is not malicious; it reportedly doesn’t track your habits or provide information about you to a third party. This type of adware is simply serving up random paid ads within the program. When you quit the program the ads will stop running on your system.

Spyware mean:

Unfortunately, some freeware applications which contain adware do track your surfing habits in order to serve ads related to you. When the adware becomes intrusive like this, then we move it in the spyware category and it then becomes something you should avoid for privacy and security reasons. Due to its invasive nature, spyware has really given adware a bad name as many people do not know the differences between the two, or use the the terms interchangeably.

Spyware is considered a malicious program and is similar to a Trojan Horse in that users unwittingly install the product when they install something else. A common way to become a victim of spyware is to download certain peer-to-peer file swapping products that are available today.

Spyware works like adware but is usually a separate program that is installed unknowingly when you install another freeware type program or application. Once installed, the spyware monitors user activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to someone else. Spyware can also gather information about e-mail addresses and even passwords and credit card numbers.

Because spyware exists as independent executable programs, they have the capability to monitor your keystrokes, scan files on the hard drive, snoop other applications, such as chat programs or word processors, install other spyware programs, read cookies, change the default home page on the Web browser, while consistently relaying this information back to the spyware author who will either use it for advertising and marketing purposes or sell the information to another party.

Licensing agreements that accompany software downloads sometimes warn the user that a spyware program will be installed along with the requested software, but the licensing agreements are not always be read completely by users because the notice of a spyware installation is often couched in obtuse, hard-to-read legal disclaimers

Combating Spyware :

While one may not realize they have installed spyware, there are some signs that it exists on your computer. If you notice any changes to your Web browser that you did not make such as extra toolbars or different homepage settings, as well as changes to your security settings and favorites list, you could have spyware running on your system. Other signs of a spyware infection include pop-up ads which aren’t related to a Web site you’re viewing; usually spyware advertisements are adult content in nature and are not displayed in the same fashion as legitimate ads you would normally see on your favorite Web sites. You may also see advertisements when you’re not browsing the Web. Clicking hyperlinks which do not work (or take you somewhere you didn’t expect), a sluggish system, or your system taking longer to load the Windows desktop are all signs that your computer may be infected with spyware.

With the onset of spyware comes a plethora of anti-spyware software packages to rid your system of these unwanted and malicious programs. Anti-spyware software works by identifying any spyware installed on your system and removing it. Since spyware is installed like any other application on your system it will leave traces of itself in the system registry and in other places on your computer. Anti-spyware software will look for evidence of these files and delete them if found.

It is important to remember that not all companies who claim their software contains adware are really offering adware. There is always a chance that adware is spyware in disguise so to speak, and that programs with embedded spyware may not state its existence at all. Always stay on the side of caution and be sure to research privacy policies and licensing agreements that come with freeware. You should also become familiar with Internet lists of companies reported to be using spyware. Much like a firewall or anti-virus program, anti-spyware software is crucial to maintain optimal protection and security on your computer and network

Spyware = any program that spies on you or your computer and reports back to a server.

Malware = any program that you don’t want on your computer that was put there without your intention (viruses, worms, spyware, trojans, etc.)

Adware = any program designed to give you ads, pop up or otherwise

Cookies = a small text file that your browser puts on your computer when you visit some sites. They are usually harmless and are used, for example, to store your login information for a website. Some cookies are for ad sites, and those are the ones you don’t necessarily want

Virus = malicious code that hides in an executable or other type of file and does something when that program is run

Worm = malicious code that spreads through the internet, sometimes through email, and sometimes by exploiting vulnerabilities in unpatched operating systems

Trojan = malicious code embedded in a file that you think is good. The term ‘trojan’ refers to the famous Trojan Horse. You are tricked into running a program named ‘Kazaa_installer.exe’ and it turns out to be a worm

Answer by krishna kumar
Malware is short for malicious software. Malware is software designed specifically to disrupt a computer system. A trojan horse , worm or a virus could be classified as Malware. Some advertising software can be malicious in that it can try to re-install itself after you remove it.

spyware ….A form of Malware that is often associated with Browser Hijacking, Keyloggers, and recording / sending web browsing habits to a 3rd party. Spyware is one of the most common forms of malware, and often slows the performance of your computer. …

adware…A type of Advertising Display Software that delivers advertising content potentially in a manner or context that may be unexpected and unwanted by users. Many adware applications also perform tracking functions, and therefore may also be categorized as Tracking Technologies. …

virus ..A computer virus is a piece of code that is secretly introduced into a system in order to corrupt it or destroy data. Often viruses are hidden in other programs or documents and when opened, the virus is let loose.

For Best Antivirus there are many school of thoughts but as my experience I will recomment Kasperasky as this is running good in my 80 Computers(Local network) and 400 computers Corporate network and it has all the anti hacking, antivirus, anti spy Etc.

Definition source Wikipedia http://www.wikipedia.org/

Adware is software with Ad functions bundled in a program

Spyware is computer software that is installed surreptitiously on a personal computer to intercept or take partial control over the user’s interaction with the computer, without the user’s informed consent.

Malware is Malicious software installed on your computer

A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user. However, the term “virus” is commonly used, albeit erroneously, to refer to many different types of malware programs.

Answer by David Vandertramp
You have a virus. This virus is known as the “Search Redirect Virus” and manipulates search results to redirect you from genuine links to advertisements and other irrelevant websites.

Malwarebytes cannot detect, and therefore remove, this virus because it infects computers in a totally unique way. The virus infects a few system files and changes the way the operating system uses the internet via the web browser. Conventional anti virus are not designed to deal with this kind of infection, they are only designed to detect malicious software running.

The virus works by altering a few settings in this system file. Since Google always takes you to another Google website before taking you onward to your actual link, this middle step can be intercepted by the virus. It takes advantage of this small flaw to redirect you. It can be extremely irritating as it only occurs sporadically.

In my experience of this virus, the only way to remove it is to manually remove it with the help of a program called ComboFix. This program finds the corrupt system file and restores it back to it’s original state. You can find ComboFix, with an excellent tutorial, here:

It’s better to stop thinking “antivirus” programs will protect you.

Instead you should:

1. Set up and use almost exclusively a limited user account.

Listen to wiztek. He is using ESET Smart Security, It is the best internet Security program there is.

I did test 5 different internet security programs over the last 12 months.

Here is my top 3

3rd place – Bitdefender Total Security – good – 8 out of 10

2nd place – Panda Internet Security 2009 – very good 8 ½ out of 10

1st place and in my opinion the best is

ESET Smart Security.- did find infections

the other programs missed – very good 9 out of 10

The other 2 programs I tested, were Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 and

Zone Alarm Security Suite

I liked ESET that much, that I purchased it and it is now protecting my computer very well.

Answer by Not Of This World – N.O.T.W -
if you’re using Vista most likely you will have this problem over n over

Answer by Paradox
What you’ll need to do is install an anti-virus and anti-malware.

Get the following:

Malwarebytes

avast!

Install those two, update them, and set them to full run. Avast has a slew of awesome scanners at its disposal (Most of them are active-shields), and the best part is they’re both free.

If your computer can start up all the way, install and run them both… it should take care of the problem entirely.

Most of the time things claiming to help that pop up seemingly at the best possible (When things mess up) are 100% of the time trojans // worms // spammers. When you download them and install them they will claim to find an astronomical amount of viruses and tell you to buy the product claiming that it works. If you do, you should probably change your credit-card number because it’s more likely a phisher (A phisher is someone who steals credit card information then goes on a spending spree, or he’ll sell the credit card information to someone who then spends like crazy). So install the anti-virus, and run it… and if you seriously install and paid for one of the fake “You have 50 virus” ad’s, I would honestly change your credit card number.

Hopefully this answers your question!

Cheers.

There are viruses out there and antivirus software is pretty much a necessity, but id guess that most, less computer literate people dont really understand that so many programs they install automatically start background processes on startup that will reduce performance considerably when built up (like itunes sets something like ituneshelper.exe to run on startup). And then theres the people that use really old, outdated computers but expect them to manage with programs/workloads made for the newer, more powerful pcs. Since they dont know about these the only cause they can think of is a virus.

anything is as plausible as what you propose.

why did your designer make it possible for starfish to regrow limbs but not humans?

Evolution

Answer by Dendronbat Crocoduck
There is a considerable literature on how natural chemical reactions created biological precursors which led to an RNA phenotypic world. Read and learn. Evolution works by mathematically predictable selective processes. People have publsihed detailed accounts of how “lightening bugs, electric eels, blind bats with sonar, worms and starfish” have evolved. Read these detailed accounts and learn.

Answer by The Tao of Atheism.
Claim CE441:

The universe was supposedly formed in the big bang, but explosions do not produce order or information.

Source:

Big-Bang-Theory, 2002. http://www.big-bang-theory.com

Response:

1. The total entropy of the universe at the start of the big bang was minimal, perhaps almost zero. Because it was so compact, it had considerably more order than the universe we are in now. The complexity we observe around us today can be produced from the ultimate order of the hot but cooling gas of the big bang.

2. The big bang was not an explosion. It was an expansion. Besides the fact that it got bigger over time, the big bang has almost nothing in common with an explosion.

3. Explosions do produce some order amidst their other effects:

* Large surface explosions, such as nuclear bombs, produce the familiar mushroom clouds. There are not very highly ordered, but they are not purely random, either.

* Supernovae produce heavy elements, and the shock waves from them compress interstellar gases, which begins the formation of new stars.

* Powerful explosions can compress carbon into diamond crystals, the most ordered arrangement.

* Explosions of atomized gasoline produce compressed gas, which is harnessed in internal combustion engines to power automobiles and other equipment.

Answer by The Wag
What order?

Your entire argument is fallacious, I don’t even know where to begin.

So we have:

False analogy

Argument from personal incredulity/ignorance

I wonder how any evolution could create different flavored fruits.

It amazes me how different foods taste different.

Answer by Footy
“an explosion in a puddle ”

If you don’t even understand the concept, why bother trying to fight against the science? Edcuate yourself, otherwise you just look foolish by maing such statements.

Answer by Gazoo
Err…the Universe isn’t in any order. Don’t get out much, do ya?

Answer by Soul Brother Steve
This world is perfect as it is. Trees turn harmful gases into breathable element, water to drink, food to eat etc. It was all by intelligent design. Not by some primordial mishaps are we here, or even alive, we are here for a purpose. Seek out yours by coming to the Lord

Answer by roadside confessions
Some Christians are vehemently opposed to the “Big Bang Theory.” They view it as an attempt to explain the origin of the universe apart from God. Others ascribe to the Big Bang Theory, with the view that it was God Himself who caused the Big Bang. God, in His infinite wisdom and power, could have chosen to use a Big Bang method to create the universe, but He did not. The reason that can be absolutely stated is that the Bible argues against such a method. Here are some of the contradictions between the Bible and the Big Bang theory:

In Genesis 1, God created the earth before the sun and stars. The Big Bang theory requires it to be the other way around. In Genesis 1, God creates the earth, sun, moon, stars, plant life, animal life, and mankind in a span of six 24-hour days. The Big Bang theory requires billions of years. In Genesis 1, God created all matter by His spoken word. The Big Bang theory begins with matter already in existence and never explains the initial source or cause of matter.

In Genesis 1, God breathed life into the body of the perfectly created Adam. The Big Bang theory requires billions of years, and billions of chance circumstances, to get around to the first human, and it never can explain how the first microscopic life form happened to “evolve” from a non-living atom. In the Bible, God is eternal and the matter and the universe are not. There are different versions of the Big Bang theory, but in most of them the universe and/or matter is eternal. In Genesis 1, the existence of God is assumed, “In the beginning God…” The true purpose of the Big Bang theory is to deny His existence.

Answer by Pangloss- Ancora Imparo
Computers are non-living objects, dear.

Perhaps you should review basic biology concepts before trying to wrap your brain around physics.

Read The Big Bang by Simon Singh.

Also, if you believe God created all these things, would you care to explain why he gave starfish the ability to regenerate limbs and not humans?

Amazing questions, aren’t they?

These are the sort of things that give life meaning!

Wouldn’t life SUCK if anyone had all the answers?

Answer by Half God Half Ape
I don’t see systemic order. I see chaos and disorder, with tiny pockets of order.

It’s much more chaotic now than it was when everything was completely still.

Answer by novangelis
Chaos can result in order. The eye of a hurricane is order in chaos. Explosions can create things. Ultrasonic chemistry relies on explosions to create new compounds.

The junkyard analogy is dishonest, since there is no selection process. If two parts come together, there is fothing that favors parts staying together.

Answer by Rev. Iason Ouabache
Perfect sight? Humans have a blind spot in the middle of our eyes thanks to where our optic nerve is located. And we can only see a very limited range of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Answer by chas_chas_123
The Big Bang is unable to explain the existence of order and complexity.

Fred Hoyle realised this when he coined the term Big Bang – as a term or derision. It defies common sense (and science) to suppose that an ‘explosion’ could create order.

Answer by Andromache
Evolution is not random chaos, natural selection is the opposite of random.

Answer by Darth Dirt
It didn’t. It put the Earth in orbit of a star that is eventually going to expand and destroy the Earth. It also put the Earth in the path of several comets that have smashed into the Earth throughout its history. AND there are still comets on the way. That is not systematic order. That is a big, giant mess.

Also, the orbit of the planets isn’t perfect: 365.256 363 051 days (365 d 6 h 9 min 9.7676 s). How unsystematic is that? We’ve had a make up a leap year to get our own calender right. And even then we have to add a few extra minutes every now and again.

Yeah, there is nothing systematic about the universe. Except wishful thinking.

Answer by awasis
It’s called the quantum field and has to do with infinity and probability, not to mention infinite universes. You need to advance 2000 years in your awareness of what we know now and stop spouting terms like “chaos” that you do not understand what you are even talking about.

Answer by asuku t
We all just guess when it comes to creations.

Neither the bible or other holy books writers nor the non believers can testify as to how we are created.

So, be smart to use your own brain too think instead of allowing other mind controllers(religion merchants/peddlers) to do that for you.

Whpoever created us sorely gave us the brain to think.

Answer by Jim
The Bang just supplied the energy of Motion. Gravity provided the order. And the Divine Intelligence, inhabiting all matter, energy, space and time, grew living things to express itself.

Answer by starpenta
Actually, the Big Bang is a theory about the origins. The actual process in which ORGANIC (ie-not computer bits or beautiful robot parts) evolved into the current system we have now.

If we’re so perfect, why do our bodies age? Why do we die? If there’s an intelligent designer, why didn’t he design the earth to hold whatever population we have? Why didn’t he design us with all the same mental capacity? Why don’t we have wings? Why do mistakes we make somehow justify the Black Plague or the Holocaust? Or birth defects? Why do ‘we’ have to pay for the sins of our ‘fathers’? Why does nature go against the idea of a single male creating life?

Just b/c a junkyard of inanimate pieces of metal can’t form itself into anything (seeing as how IT’S NOT ORGANIC), that hardly answers any other questions as to why that particular mythical character is real.

Answer by Rick G
If the big bang occurred, then it was under the control of God. The 4 forces that came into effect was not by chance, but in the right sequence, again set by God.

Chaos has no creative power, doesn’t make rational decisions, and doesn’t care about the outcome.

So, I prefer to use the term “Massive outflow of power” in describing the activity that God used to create the physical universe.

Answer by dro611
well my sigh is far from perfect, and we all have a blind spot.

http://www.youtube.com/user/dawkinschannel

you should watch this, its a little about evolution, and how natural selection works.

And about the chaos thing, il be really simple, you know how clouds form familiar things sometimes, it like that.

Answer by Josiah
It’s not like this all happened all at once.

You have to realize how long time really is. It’s taken literally forever to get to the point at which we are today. The stars and planets did not just automatically spring into orbit; rather, it has taken a forever of collisions to arrive at the current astronomical state. Occasionally astronomers will observe the collision of galaxies. The universe is still being settled. It will probably never stop. In this way, millions of years of storms in a junk yard have, indeed, created a beautiful machine.

An explosion in a puddle did not create genetic programming and uniqueness. It did not create instincts and immune systems. What it did create, I believe (yes, I said believe), is a chemical reaction, resulting in amino acids. This has been replicated in a laboratory. (see Miller-Urey Experiment)

From there, it’s just natural selection by way of random mutation. This too has been demonstrated in laboratory tests and real-life situations.

Answer by been good
To God, TIME is relative; what we consider millions of years to God only took a second. Why? Because He is God, and He spoke everything into existence. The very nature of God requires that He be able to do anything, anywhere, any time, and however He wants to, and it will all be the right thing to do. If God chose to use the “Big Bang” theory, then so be it. As long as the sequence coincides with the Genesis account in the Bible and includes the acknowledgement that God did it, I will accept it. In investigating the details, however, I don’t find this to be consistent with scripture, so I’ll pass on the Big Bang theory. That doesn’t mean anyone else cannot accept it, but it also doesn’t make it true.

I agree, no matter how long you leave junk in a junk yard, that junk will never come together and form a computer, even with all the forces of nature available to it. It will only decompose, just like we will over time.

You people sure know how to deviate from a good question, so here’s my two cents on all these side comments:

Man had the opportunity for earthly immortality and perfection, but because he/she chose to be selfish in the Garden of Eden, all of that was taken away, and granted only to those who choose to follow the Lord. Bodies of believers may be on Earth for a split second in comparison, but our souls will spend the rest of Eternity with Him.

Since we cannot have the mind of God, we are not to second-guess His wisdom, only trust that He has a handle on the world, and can be in control of our lives if we let Him, and everything will turn out just fine. Chaos only occurs when man refuses to acknowledge our diversities and gets violent because we are not all the same, and doing things in HIS way apart from God.

One reason why things are not perfect for believers is that they are living in an unbelieving world that makes unwise choices for them even if they are totally trusting in God. But surprise! God knew it would happen, and is also working through THEM to make things right in the world. When all the dust settles and the end of the world as we know it happens, you can BET that all will be perfect, because HE will be ruling the world. This world did not begin in chaos, and will not end in chaos. So if there is “chaos in the world” now, it’s not God’s fault. Check the hearts and minds of our world leaders. Then look into your local government. How about your neighbors and people with influence? But what it all comes down to, is check your OWN heart, as that’s the only place where you can make a real difference in this world….

Edit: That starfish question is interesting, but I’m sure that you understand that every living thing has been given some uniqueness to the others, and this was assigned to the starfish, along with a few other land and sea creatures. Would you want every living thing to regrow body parts?

Question by : What is the best Free Anti-Virus Program that will make me feel safe?

I have Malaware Bytes and Avast! Right now.

Malaware Bytes Kicks Butt, I’m never going to delete that.

But Avast sucks, I feel no protection at all, malaware bytes finds all these viruses, and avast finds nothing. What should i do? Apparently Avast just sucks big time.

What is the best free anti-virus software out there for you?

Fact:

Free and Payed protection are nearly the same, free versions off a anti virus which can be bougth uses the same database and therefore catches the same viruses though additional features might be added to the payed version.

A slight intro, Why not to pick AVG? or as they say AGV?

AVG is a high memory consuming low efficent anti virus, it scores badly in most tests and when put to the test by actual users it fails just as hard. Often when you buy or download AVG, you are participating in what I like to call “GIVE ME VIRUS” movement, as when AVG catches a minor virus it will struggle to delete it or slow perhaps freeze your Computer. When sligthly more advanced viruses infects your system, AVG Is also highly likely to freeze or disable itself.

ANSWER TO RYAN:

Way to go dude, nice recommendation, well AVG is crap, Mac is less safe then windows according to hackers themself.

I will list a number off softwares below which will make you feel very safe

-Avast (Avast.com) On paper this is less efficent then Avira but Avast wins my thrust with an comprehensive Web Shield

-SuperAntiSpyware(.com)

-Malwarebytes(.com) This and SuperAntiSpyware are nearly the same, they will cover the areas where the others can’t.

-Comodo Firewall (Comodo.com) This is just one off the best firewalls out there, it is free and really makes you feel secure when you feel that it’s there all the time, not like windows firewall -.-

-Sandboxie(.com) this is free and useful, Sandboxing are becoming more and more populare, some anti virus programs are implementing it into their own software, sandboxing is just locking all downloads and programs into an virtual envirnment. It will prevent any harm to your PC even if you download a file with a virus inside it.

Mate, Avast is pretty much the best free anti virus, if you don’t feel that it’s there it generally means you don’t have anything to be concerned about. Get the products i’ve listed and you will remain secure, Also get CCleaner from Piriform.com which will remove trash Windows has created for no reason ^^

NB: DISABLE WINDOWS FIREWALL BEFORE GETTING COMODO’s

Answer by ohw0rd?
Avast is the best free anti-virus software out there to date, it is rated higher than AVG by many security sites. Google it. You could try Avira next if you would like. Might I also suggest CCleaner to you? Very nice Registry fix and Junk remover and plays well with Malwarebytes and Avast.

Answer by Mr Vellore
Previous answers covered most of the good and freeware security programs. You can consider Immunet also. It works alongside with most of the AV’S.
