it sound like one of the many fake anti virus’s it’s trying to extort money from you what ever you do don’t buy it.

to get rid of it run an anti virus scan if that doesn’t find it try using an anti malware program such as malwarebytes anti malware and running a scan with that you can get it for free here http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Answer by Luther H
1878, this is a scare tactic and a rogue malware program. It’s like a virus and can be a nuisance to deal with because it keeps popping up.

Let’s get rid of it shall we?

Go here and download combo-fix.exe : http://www.combofix.org/download.php and save it to your desktop.

Now this is the tricky part.

Disconnect from the internet, because the “virus” that you have continues to “call” home wanting you do “download” their product. Meaning UNPLUG from the internet

TURN off your anti-virus and any other programs and you have running in the task bar, not the system tray. We want that “virus” to be caught

Run combo fix and wait. For systems that have several drives and a large hdd, this could take a while, get a coffee and come back in a few minutes. 250 GB takes 35 minutes after starting on my system.

Once combo fix has ran, it will restart your system automatically and finish up the process.

Once the combo has finished, you will see a text file that will be stored into your computer telling you all sorts of things about what it had found and removed.

Now connect back to the internet and let’s get you some protection

Go here and download spybot search and destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html and get the 1.6.2 version. Download and install and UNCHECK the “tea timer” . After install, open the program and update everything.

Wait and download mbam from their server this free version: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Download and install and wait.

Spybot still up? Good, Run this program and let it finish. When the scan is done, you will see various items that come up and have a check marc beside them. You can uncheck the items that you do not want to have removed if you know for sure that they are safe.

Once that is done, look to the left navigation pane and you will see a “shield”. Click this and at the top of the page you will see Immunize is there. Make sure that you are not on the internet or have any browsers open. The process will start and then check again. Done and close this program

Now open MBAM and start a full system scan. This program will capture anything that your anti-virus and spybot did not capture.

After this is done, start your anti-virus and do a full system scan. make sure that you update your anti-virus

You should now have a clean system. MBAM and spybot will help protect you when you get a rogue spyware program.

3. Select link “Download F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus” and then select phone model

4. Download the file and select open after download

5. Install F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus

6. Go to applications menu and start Anti-Virus

After disinfecting you phone, you can remove remaining empty directories by going to application manager and uninstalling the SIS file in which Comwarrior arrived (either commw.sis or random name)

Hi Osbaldo,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

When you restored your system it most likely corrupted your installation of Norton AntiVirus. Please follow the steps below to run the Norton Removal Tool and to then reinstall the software.

1. Make note of your current Activation Key.

2. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:

3. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running the second time as well.

4. Download the latest version of the Norton AntiVirus installer by clicking on the link below and then choosing the “Download” button under “Norton AntiVirus.”

5. When the installation is complete, launch Norton AntiVirus and choose “Run LiveUpdate. If any updates are installed, restart your computer. The new “Pulse Updates” feature and LiveUpdate will now run automatically going forward.

6. Run a “Full System Scan” on your computer to check for infections.

Mike

If this happens just from opening up IE — without you doing anything — then the problem must be with the “initial” page, that IE is set to open upon start-up.

In my opinion, this should ALWAYS be blank page (URL “about:blank”), but, in your case, that seems different.

Unless you, or your ISP (or school?) set the initial URL for you (and the page has a bug), it is supposed be set to something under msn.com, where Microsoft is highly unlikely to have a bug.

More probably, you’ve downloaded some crap, which changed the initial page to point to some shoddy advertising site. The goal is for the scum -g to get paid every time the advertising page loads.

Chances are, you have other infections and should either seek professional help for your PC (Stapes, Best Buy, Office Depot all offer “anti-virus” services, but I’ve never used them), or, if you have a clue, clean up your computer yourself.

Download Ad-Aware (see link in Sources below) — the free version is fine, you can refuse to upgrade to the paid version — and let it perform a full scan once (can take hours). You’ll be amazed, how much crap you have… You, probably, will want to let Ad-Aware take “default action” with every item it finds…

Re-run it (in the faster “smart” scan mode) at least once a week after that… And be careful downloading dancing kitties next time…

Have any idea far better?
