1. Restart your computer in SafeMode

- After Power-On the computer, just before Windows start, press F8

- From the selections, Select SafeMode

2. Remove Registry entries that the threat added. You MUST BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY FIRST.

- Click Start > Run

- Type in the field, regedit

- Navigate and look for the registry entries mentioned above and delete if necessary

3. Delete malicious files that the threat added:

- Base on the given location above, browse and delete the file

- If no location is given, click Start>Search> and search for the files.

- If cannot be deleted, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to access Task Manager, see if the file is running in the process. If it is, select the file and click End Process. Perform file delete again.

4. Scan computer with Antivirus Program

- Update antivirus program

- Scan computer and delete all detected threats.

Automatic Removal of Antivir Solution Pro

1. Download and run MalwareBytes AntiMalware to remove this computer threat.

Answer by L S

2-spyware is okay and legit. But they usually give you instructions for removing it manually which means poking around in the registry (and only people who know what they are doing should be in the registry) and a link to an “automatic removal tool” which is Spyware Doctor. Spyware Doctor doesn’t remove anything unless you pay for it. They do give links to Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, both of which are good, but Spyware Doctor is the one they mostly push.

There are other sites which start with 2 that are more of a concern than them such as 2-viruses which has a poor reputation.

I prefer to direct people to Bleeping Computer because they (along with other forums such as Major Geeks) like to give you instructions that don’t have you poking around in places like the registry. Bleeping Computer has guides which are specific to these rogue programs, which I see as a strength of their site. A strength for Major Geeks is their “catch-all” cleaning guide which uses various programs to remove all sorts of malware – very useful if you don’t know what you’re up against or there seems to be a few things needing removing.

http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

You need this guide from Bleeping Computer:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-antivir-solution-pro

If you can’t get to that site, the first steps are these:

1. Restart your computer in Safe Mode with Networking (not just Safe Mode). This is done by tapping F8 as the computer starts.

2. Log in using your usual login that you were using when Antivir Solution Pro got on there.

3. Once logged in, open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools (press Alt if you can’t see the menu bar and it should pop up) and then to Internet Options.

4. On the box that pops up, choose the Connections tab and then the LAN Settings button.

5. Untick everything on that box and then click OK and OK to close it.

You should now be able to reach that guide and follow it.

You can remove Personal Antivirus and affiliated threats manually:

I’m not surprised, I’m not a big fan of Norton. If I were in your shoes I would download either Spyware Doctor or Antivirus PLUS and run a scan with one of those. You can easily see what threats exist. (First disable Norton before you scan) You can review these programs at http://www.spyware-review.net

Personal Antivirus (PersonalAntivirus) is very wisely denominated rogue antispyware: sooner or later, most users figure out what sort of software they have, and ask how to remove Personal Antivirus. However, as users google Personal Antivirus, they still may find a quantity of praising reviews, because personal antivirus, as a combination of words, is extremely widely applied, so that legitimate products may be found by searching for personal antivirus. However, it is possible to find the guide for Personal Antivirus removal and testimonies of its rogue nature by entering more detailed request in search ingines. then, move the file to your infected computer, make sure that it is disconnected from the internet, turn it on, and then install the program. run the start up cleaner, and it should take care of your virus problems.

if you are unable to get on your desktop, (blue screen of death, etc.) once you turn on your computer, even before the bios screen appears, tap F8 and it shoudl give you a list of start up options. choose either safe mode with no networking, and then proceed from there.

That is not a program if you never installed it. Its a virus, I’ve had the same experience.

So in order to completely remove it, you are going to have to do a virus scan.

The one I would recommend the most is Malwarebyte’s Anti-Malware software, its free and does a heck of a job scanning for viruses (83 versus my “anti-virus” software picking up nothing).

Download that (downloading on another computer and putting it on a usb might help in some cases), don’t install it just yet. Boot your computer into safe mode (press F8 during startup until a option involving safe mode pops up, and preess enter on that), install the software, and then run a virus scan. it should easily find it, delete it, and then poof it should be gone remove program from computer Completely How to remove the program completely from my computer? antivirususerreviews

Answer by Ashley

You have one of the most annoying spywares that can be treated by rebooting your computer into safe mode with networking (start clicking F8 as soon as your machine becomes active) and then going to task manager. There you should stop randomly named processes of Security Shield – this should help to disable malware. Additionally, scan with updated anti-spyware or automatic removal tool.

Answer by Sharing Knowledge

Security shield is a fake software, programmed to show you fake infection results. Get a genuine spyware remover and get rid of it in less than 5 minutes.

Do I stop or cancel a scan virus detection / warning what happens?

Question from zlumos: What happens to virus detections/warnings once I stop or cancel the scan?

The Avira full system scan is taking way too long and I really must shut my computer down. At the moment, it has 3 virus “detections” and 6 “warnings”. If I stop the scan now (currently at 55% and has taken 8 hours!) what happens to those detections/warnings? Are they clear out of the way now? Or will stopping the scan mean Avira does nothing with those detections?

It is exactly about What happens to virus detections/warnings once I stop or cancel the scan? that you may possibly would be wise to solve situations for their own end. Optimistically this can help in several ways, to make your own life much better. Who wish exactly about What happens to virus detections/warnings once I stop or cancel the scan? could very well be a resolution later on in life.

Best answer:

Answer by Graham

I don’t know. When you stop the scan, Avira may give you the option to remove the infections it’s already detected. Eight hours sounds much too long a scan time, even with a large hard disk and multiple folders/files.

Try this:

Firstly, boot your computer to the Safe Mode menu screen. You do this by repeatedly pressing F8 as soon as you boot up. Once there, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with Networking. Continue to boot from there, by pressing Enter. You will now see some drivers being loaded. There will be a pause at some point. This usually lasts for no more than 30 seconds.

If that’s successful, download and run TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky Lab. It’s tiny, and takes just a minute to run. It hunts down and kills a specific family of rootkits:

http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208280684

Regardless of the results, download the free version of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (MBAM). Install it, get updates and run a full scan (still in Safe Mode). This is a direct download link. Copy and paste it into your browser’s address bar, and press Enter.

http://www.myantispyware.com/mbam

After that, boot normally and run another full scan with MBAM. It will detect any malware that wasn’t running in Safe Mode.

If the problem still exists, download and run the free Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool:

http://www.kaspersky.com/antivirus-removal-tool?form=1

You should now delete TDSSKiller.exe and the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, as updated versions are often made available. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware can be easily uninstalled, should you wish to do so, but it may prove to be beneficial in the future.

Hope this helps.

You should try using MSCONFIG in Windows XP to disable some of the unnecessary programs that automatically load on start-up. Disabling these programs will help your computer boot faster and crash less.

1. In Windows XP, go to Start > Run

2. Type MSCONFIG in the “Open:” box and then either press enter on your keyboard or click on the OK button.

3. This launches Microsoft’s System Configuration Utility. Click on the Startup tab (the tab at the far right).

4. This takes you to a page with a list of “startup items.” Startup items are programs that are automatically loaded every time you turn on your computer. Some startup programs are absolutely necessary, others are simply a waste of RAM.

Remember, disable only those programs that you recognize and don’t need to have running all the time. When in doubt, leave it on.

5. Click on the OK button.

6. A message will pop up telling you that you must restart your computer before these changes will take effect. Click on “Yes” and your computer will automatically reboot.

7. That’s it! Your computer should now boot faster and crash less.

And you should also update our Antivirus software and run a virus scan,
